First Aid Training
The Safety Office organizes, annually, 3 types of First Aid Training Course for members of the University Community. They are:
Occupational First Aid Training Course
This course offers 30 hours of training: 7 three-hour lectures and 3 three-hour practical lessons. A First Aid Certificate, valid for 3 years, is issued on the successful attendance, completion and examinations on theory, bandages and resuscitation. The Safety Office will help department organize "in house" first aid training if 20 candidates can join.
First Aid Refresher Course
To enable First Aiders to renew their certificates, the Safety Office organises a First Aid Refresher Course (1 day training) which enables the certificate to be extended for a further 3 years. The emphasis of this course is on the methods of using bandages and resuscitation.
Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
CPR is particularly suitable for people who are involved with electrical equipment and/or who are exposed to a constant risk of electric shock & electrocution. CPR is an important life saving first aid for electrical accidents. This is a three hour training course and a certificate will be issued after passing the resuscitation examination. Safety Office will help departments to organize "in house" CPR training if 8 persons can join.
