First Aid Training

The Safety Office organizes, annually, 3 types of First Aid Training Course for members of the University Community. They are:

 

  • Occupational First Aid Training Course
    This course offers 30 hours of training: 7 three-hour lectures and 3 three-hour practical lessons. A First Aid Certificate, valid for 3 years, is issued on the successful attendance, completion and examinations on theory, bandages and resuscitation. The Safety Office will help department organize "in house" first aid training if 20 candidates can join.

  • First Aid Refresher Course
    To enable First Aiders to renew their certificates, the Safety Office organises a First Aid Refresher Course (1 day training) which enables the certificate to be extended for a further 3 years. The emphasis of this course is on the methods of using bandages and resuscitation.

  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
    CPR is particularly suitable for people who are involved with electrical equipment and/or who are exposed to a constant risk of electric shock & electrocution. CPR is an important life saving first aid for electrical accidents. This is a three hour training course and a certificate will be issued after passing the resuscitation examination. Safety Office will help departments to organize "in house" CPR training if 8 persons can join.
